Convert between Bytes, KB, MB, GB, TB, and PB. Binary (1024) and decimal (1000) modes.
Storage manufacturers use decimal (1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes) while operating systems use binary (1 GB = 1,073,741,824 bytes). A "500 GB" drive shows as ~465 GB in your OS. This isn't missing space โ it's a unit difference.
MB (megabyte, decimal) = 1,000,000 bytes. MiB (mebibyte, binary) = 1,048,576 bytes. The IEC introduced binary prefixes (KiB, MiB, GiB) to eliminate confusion, but MB is still commonly used for both.
